The 19th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team (6-9) topped #18 Stanford 6-3 in a consolation semifinal match of the Walker Cup Division at the College Squash Association (CSA) Championships on Saturday. The Panthers take on #20 St. Lawrence in the consolation finals on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. Middlebury opened its season with a 5-4 victory over the Saints, as the two squads meet for their respective season finales.
The Panthers earned the first three points of the match by default, with The Cardinal unable to fill the slots at #7, #8, and #9.
Stanford got on the board with a 3-0 victory in the third spot.
Eva Finney was victorious 3-0 (11-8, 11-4, 11-7) at #4, before
Maya Bardorf clinched the match with a 3-0 sweep (11-7, 11-0, 11-2) in the fifth slot. The Cardinal earned a point at #2, before
Grace Santoro put together a dominant performance in the sixth spot. Santoro shut out her opponent in two of the three games and only allowed two points in the other to win 3-0 (11-0, 11-2, 11-0). Stanford earned the final point of the match to make it a 6-3 final.
