The Middlebury men's distance medley relay squad of
Drew Donahue,
Colin Breen,
Quinlan McGaugh and
Max Cluss broke a pair of records on the first day of the Division III New England Championships being hosted in Virtue Field House. The Panther quartet placed second with a time of 10:06.52. MIT finished first in the event with a clocking of 10:03.37 as both teams broke the meet record (10:10.99) and the New Balance Track record (10:08.04).
Alexander Kessler raced to a sixth-place finish in the 5,000-meter, crossing the finish line with a time of 14:47.75.
The DMR squad and Kessler earned All-New England honors with their performances.
Middlebury sits in third place with 11 points, while MIT is in first (50 points) and the University of Southern Maine rounds out the top-three with 12.50 points. The teams are back in action on Saturday for a full day of competition with events beginning at 10:00 a.m.
