Panthers Sweep Diving Events & 400 Free Relay Against the Mammoths

Ryan Greguski placed second off the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
The Middlebury diving team swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter events while taking the top-three spots in the 400-yard freestyle relay at Amherst on Saturday. The Mammoths won the meet 192-99.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Ran Brown led the way on the boards, claiming first place in both events. Brown tallied 192.67 points off the 1-meter, while finishing with 188.92 points off the 3-meter. 
  • Ryan Greguski finished second off the 1-meter (186.44 points) and the 3-meter (185.77), while Owen White rounded out the group with third place in both events.
  • The Panthers earned first, second and third in the 400 free relay. The top team of Aidan McKenrick, Riley Griffis, Andrew Dou and Samuel Hughes clocked in at 3:11.96 to earn the crown.
  • Griffis was also victorious in the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:41.82. The Panther placed second in the 500 free with a time of 4:47.12. 
  • Jack Undercofler earned a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 52.64.
  • McKendrick was the second swimmer in the 50 free, stopping the clock in 21.89.
  • Hughes took home third in the 200 back with a time of 1:56.46. 
 
The Panthers close out first-semester competition next Saturday when they travel to Springfield.
