#23 Men’s Squash Breezes Past Vassar 9-0

Julian Sandoval earned a 11-2, 11-3, 11-1 victory in the #7 slot.
 The 23rd-ranked Middlebury men's squash team blanked Vassar 9-0 on Friday night. The Panthers didn't drop a single game in the victory.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Julian Sandoval scored the first point for the Panthers, easing to a three-game victory in the #7 spot (11-2, 11-3, 11-1).
  • In the #3 slot, Caleb Boateng won three-straight games to put Middlebury ahead 2-0 (11-4, 11-1, 11-3).
  • The Panthers gained a 3-0 edge just minutes later, as PK Keller tallied a three-game victory in the middle of the ladder (11-6, 11-4, 11-6).
  • Will Quigley was next to finish for Middlebury, wrapping up a decisive win in the #9 spot (11-2, 11-1, 11-4).
  • Kian Kardestuncer clinched the match for the Panthers, rolling to a win in the #6 spot (11-2, 11-3, 11-1).
  • After a tightly-contested first game, Will Lichstein bounced back to secure the three-game triumph (11-7, 11-1, 11-5) in the second spot, pushing the lead to 6-0.
  • Alexis Ballo and Theo Kogan recorded three-games victories at #8 (11-1, 11-1, 11-0) and #4 (11-6, 11-1, 11-3), respectively. 
  • Nathan Feinstein completed the Middlebury sweep with a three-game win in the top spot (11-3, 11-6, 11-4). 
NOTES
  • With the triumph, Middlebury earned its first 2-0 start to a season since 2014-15.
  • The meeting between the two programs was the fourth time all-time and the first since 2009-10 with the Panthers claiming all four matchups.
