Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at George Phinney Classic

The Middlebury women's golf team hosted the George Phinney Classic at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course this weekend. The Panthers finished in fifth place with a two-day score of 668. Williams won the event with a combined score of 648, while New York University earned second place with a total of 650.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Morgan Lee followed up her strong performance at the Williams Fall Invite with another impressive showing this weekend, finishing tied for fifth overall shooting a team-low 161 (81-80) over the two rounds. 
  • Audrey Tir fired a two-day score of 165, which included a 79, the Panthers' lowest round of the weekend, to finish in a tie for 13th.
  • Katie Murphy finished in a tie for 24th with a score of 169 (81-88) overall. 
  • Mia Politano posted a two-day score of 175 to finish tied for 36th. Politano bettered her day-one score by nine strokes to finish the weekend on a high note. 
  • Jacqueline Slinkard was Middlebury's final scorer, finishing in a tie for 48th, with a two-day score of 180 (90-90)
  • Elizabeth Kenter finished tied for 21st and improved by six strokes over the two rounds, finishing with a total of 168 (87-81).
  • Kaylynn Xia was Middlebury's best individual scorer over the weekend. She placed 30th, with a total score of 171 (87-84).
