Men’s Golf Competes In Division I Field At Columbia Autumn Invite

The Middlebury men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Columbia Autumn Invite, an event consisting of mostly Division I opponents. The hosts, Columbia, won the event with a three-round score of 842. Sacred Heart followed closely behind, taking second place with a total of 843. The Panthers fired in a three-day total of 889.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Sean McGarrity was Middlebury's top scorer over the weekend, finishing in a tie for 21st overall. He fired in a three-round total of 218 (72-74-72), which included two rounds of one-over-par. 
  • Hogan Beazley finished in a tie for 25th overall, and scored a total of 219 (73-72-74).
  • Colin McCaigue scored a three round score of 222, ending the weekend on a high, with a one-over-par 72. 
  • The fourth scorer for Middlebury was Paul Fine-Lease who scored a 232. Fine-Lease recorded his weekend-best 74 in his second round of action.  
  • Anthony King rounded out the scoring for the Panthers, as he put together a three-round total of 235 (77-79-79).
  • Benjamin Burns was Middlebury's sole individual competitor. He placed 44th, with a total score of 226, which included a round of even par (71) on the first day of play.
