Wu and Jackson Both Victorious at Wesleyan Invitational

Julian Wu wins at the Wesleyan Invitational.
Box Score The third-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team put together an impressive showing at the Wesleyan Invitational this weekend. Julian Wu and Nathan Jackson were both victorious in their respective singles brackets, claiming the A-bracket and B-bracket titles.
 
TOURNAMENT INFO
  • The Invitational featured two singles and two doubles brackets. The doubles competition, and the first round of the singles competition, was an eight-game pro set.
  • In singles, following the first round, winners had to claim two sets, before heading to a third set tiebreaker. 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Wu (4-0) and Jackson (5-0) were both perfect on the weekend, as both claimed the singles crowns in their respective brackets.
  • Zihao Yuan picked up three singles victories during the two day event, before falling in the A-bracket semifinals.
  • Robby Ward also had a strong showing in singles, as he secured two wins in the A- bracket on the weekend.
  • The Panthers also competed with numerous doubles tandems, picking up one win.
NOTES
  • These were the first collegiate tournament bracket victories for both Wu and Jackson.
  • Yuan increased his career singles record to 26-8 overall.
