Men’s Cross Country Finishes Third at Connecticut College Invite

Middlebury honors seniors Douglas Rosin, Luke Lorenz, Max Cluss, Johnny LaFortune, Isaac Kaplan, and Zander Kessler.
The 30th-ranked Middlebury men's cross country team finished third overall at the Connecticut College Invite, in a strong field that included a plethora of nationally-ranked programs. Prior to the race, Middlebury honored seniors Douglas Rosin, Luke Lorenz, Max Cluss, Johnny LaFortune, Isaac Kaplan and Zander Kessler.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • #3 MIT won the meet with a total of 45 points. #9 Williams finished in second (78 points), while Middlebury rounded out the top-three teams (154 points). 
  • Alec Gironda was the first Panther to post a time, crossing the line by shaving nine seconds off his personal-best time with a mark of 24:47.30 to finish 15th.
  • Zander Kessler placed 20th and was just seconds behind Gironda, stopping the clock with a personal-best mark of 24:53.20.
  • Owen Johnson crossed the finish line in 24th place with a time of 24:59.50.
  • Ziggy Goddard was Middlebury's fourth finisher. He stopped the clock by lowering his personal-best time by 4.2 seconds to 25:18.60 and placed 41st overall.
  • Cluss was the final scorer for the Panthers, finishing 55th overall with a time of 25:32.90.
