Middlebury Concludes NESCAC Weekend Against Bates

Courtney Gantt was part of a winning relay and placed second in the 100 freestyle.
The Middlebury women's swimming and diving team was defeated by Bates, 167-118, at home on Sunday. The Panthers will remain at home for the fourth meet in a row, welcoming Springfield to campus on Sunday, January 16.
 
Zoe Tray and Bella Barragate picked up seven points between the two of them by taking second and third in the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:08.90 and 1:10.12, respectively. The two were back in the 200 breast, with Tray winning (2:31.01) and Barragate placing second (2:32.83).
 
On the 1-meter diving board, Kayla Schwartz and Giulia Shaughnessy placed first and second with scores of 187.80 and 180.00, respectively. It was a similar story on 3-meter where Schwartz won (203.10) and Shaughnessy followed in second place (169.05).
 
Courtney Gantt was second in the 100 freestyle  (55.54), out-touching a Bates swimmer by two one-hundredths of a second. She was also part of the winning 400 free relay (3:40.54) alongside Audrey Hsi, Lily Siemasko and Louise Hay.
