As of February 1, 2022, Middlebury College Athletics will permit spectators who are
fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and have received their booster shot, if
eligible, or have a valid medical or religious exemption.
For further information, including a list of acceptable COVID-19 vaccines, see Middlebury's
COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
Spectators cannot come to campus if any of the following apply:
- They have tested positive for COVID-19 within five days of their arrival date.
- They are experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms.
- They have been exposed to a COVID positive individual within five days of their arrival date and they are not fully vaccinated and boosted (if eligible for a booster shot).
Spectators in any of the above categories must follow
CDC guidance before they are permitted on campus. See also Middlebury's
Visitor Policy, which applies to spectators.
Well-fitted masks are required for all attending indoor athletic events, and attendees are encouraged to wear face coverings outdoors when in group settings. Please see the
Campus Guide for further information and requirements regarding masks.
The consumption of food and beverages in close proximity to others increases the risk of spreading the virus. Middlebury College and all other NESCAC member institutions prohibit team gatherings, receptions or other events with family and friends, home or away, before or after any game or practice (e.g., post-game tailgates), until further notice.
Please note: Children under age 5 are considered to have a valid medical exemption because they are not yet eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. As such, they are permitted to attend home athletics events.
