Panthers Split Meet With Continentals & Ephs

Hannah Wander placed third in the 50 breaststoke and was part of the second-place 200 medley relay.
The Middlebury women's swimming & diving team fell 179-110 to 10th-ranked Williams , but defeated Hamilton 179-119 on Saturday afternoon in NESCAC action at Williams' Samuelson-Muir Pool. The Panthers return to the pool when they host the two-day Middlebury Invitational on Friday, January 28.
 
Zoe Tray led the Panthers with a pair of second place finishes. She finished runner-up in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 31.24 and the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.69. Hannah Wander touched the wall in third in the 50 breast with a time of 31.54.
 
Olivia Rieur earned runner-up honors off the 1-meter board with a score of 174.30. Kayla Schwartz edged out her teammate to place second off the 3-meter board with a score of 199.95. Rieur was third with 197.93 points.
 
Courtney Gantt was second in the 100 freestyle in a time of 55.03.
 
Maddy Reid placed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.49.
 
Isabella Caddeau touched the wall in second in the 50 butterfly (27.02) and placed third in the 100 butterfly in a time of 1:01.12.
 
Chloe Katz placed second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:15.48, while  Haley Hutchinson was right behind in third (2:16.97).
 
Middlebury's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Gantt, Caddeau, Maddie McKean and Lily Siemasko had a winning time of 1:41.84. The Panthers' 200-yard medley relay team of Caddeau, Wander, McKean and Gantt finished second in a time of 1:49.24.
