Panthers Conclude Competition At Colby Carnival

Michel Macedo was the top finisher on the men’s side, placing ninth with a combined time of 1:47.65.
Middlebury concluded competition at the Colby Carnival on Sunday, competing in the slalom on the alpine side. The nordic races were canceled due to weather, as the final results were a combination of the giant slalom (GS), slalom and 20K freestyle scores. The Panthers finished third out of 13 teams with 754 points, with the alpine team winning both the GS events on Friday. The University of Vermont claimed the crown with 911 points, while Dartmouth was second with 811.
 
Lucia Bailey took second place in the slalom on Sunday, recording a combined time of 1:36.77. Bailey was just one-tenth of a second behind the winner rounding out the weekend with runner-up finishes in both events. Sofia Yubero placed 13th with a two-run time of 1:50.10, while Alexandra Cossette was 29th (1:54.85).
