Box Score The men's tennis team competed at the ITA New England Championship hosted by Bowdoin this weekend.
Aidan Harris and
Noah Laber won the doubles title, while
Stan Morris advanced to the championship singles match. All three Panthers qualified for the ITA Cup which takes place October 14-17 at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia. Middlebury will compete at home next weekend when it hosts the Panther Classic on Saturday and Sunday.

In doubles play, tandem
Zachary Hilty and
Neel Epstein advanced to the round of 16 with an 8-7(6) victory over MIT. Harris and Laber triumphed in the first round 8-4 over Amherst, before winning 8-7 (14-12) against a team from Colby on day one. On Sunday, the duo was victorious over a pair from Brandeis 8-5 to advance to the final, before beating a team from Williams 6-2, 7-6(6) to win the title.Â

Robby Ward cruised past his opponent from Colby-Sawyer 6-1, 6-0 in the opening round of the singles bracket. Ward came from behind (5-7, 6-4, 6-4)Â in the round of 32 and cruised to a 6-4, 6-4 win in the round of 16, before eventually falling in the quarterfinals.Â

Morris eased past his opponents in the round of 64 (6-3, 6-2), the round of 32 (6-2, 6-2), the round of 16 (6-4, 6-3 and the quarterfinals (6-3, 6-2). Morris downed a player from Bowdoin in the semifinals 6-4, 6-4, before eventually falling in the title match to Williams' Chase Cohen (6-3, 6-0).
