Marchesseault Joins Sports Medicine Staff

Middlebury has announced the hiring of Erin Marchesseault as an assistant athletic trainer. The Canaan, Vermont native comes to the Panther staff from the University of Michigan, where she worked as an athletic trainer with aquatic sports.

"I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work with, teach, and learn from the Middlebury Athletics community," said Marchesseault. "Additionally, I am looking forward to assisting the student athletes and collaborating with staff, as we all work to achieve health and performance goals this upcoming year."

"We are thrilled to welcome Erin to our staff," said Director of Sports Medicine Kelly Cray. "She brings great experience and knowledge to our Sports Medicine program and we're excited to have her join us."

At Michigan, Marchesseault completed a yearlong fellowship with the Sports Medicine Department, where she provided athletic training services to the men's and women's swimming and diving teams as well as the women's water polo program.

Prior to her position at Michigan, Marchesseault completed her master's degree in kinesiology and health studies in 2020 at Southeastern Louisiana University. While earning her graduate degree, Marchesseault was the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the volleyball, beach volleyball and tennis programs.

Marchesseault received her bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of New England in 2018. During this time, she authored the manuscript Head impacts and cognitive performance in men's lacrosse, published in The Physician and Sportsmedicine in 2018. Marchesseault also presented additional research focused on head impacts in sport at the American College of Sports Medicine Annual Meeting in 2018 and the National Athletic Trainers' Association 70th Clinical Symposia and AT Expo in 2019.
