The Middlebury women's golf team opened up its season at the Hamilton Invitational, which took place at the Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford, N.Y. The Panthers placed fourth overall, coming in with a 339. Williams earned the win with a total of 314, followed by Hamilton (316) and Amherst (325). Middlebury returns to action next Sunday at the Williams Spring Invitational.
Katie Murphy was the Panthers' top finisher on the day, coming in with a four-over-par 77 to place third overall. Two strokes back was Kayli Li, whose 79 put her in a tie for sixth place. Middlebury's next four finishers were each separated by just one stroke.
Elizabeth Kenter led the pack with a 91, followed by
Erika Nakagawa (92) and
Jacqueline Slinkard (93). Also competing for the Panthers was
Evey Kriter, who carded a 101.
