Tell us about your internship in the United States intelligence community.
I'm interning with the U.S. intelligence community this academic year through the Department of State's Virtual Student Federal Service program. More specifically, I'm conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) research to determine the future of this research methodology. Throughout the fall, I investigated existing legal authorities and intelligence community organizing structures to identify key factors to success in the OSINT environment. Over the next few months, I'll be learning how to perform intelligence analysis, and will eventually, this spring, propose recommendations based on my research to senior intelligence officials.
What are you hoping to do after graduation?
I intend to move to Washington, D.C. and hope to either continue my work in the intelligence community or find a job in the fields of international trade or security. I'm also exploring opportunities on Capitol Hill because I'd like to learn more about the American policy-making process. Ultimately, I plan to combine my interests in law and trade/national security and pursue an advanced degree.
So … Formula 1 Racing. How did you become interested in it and what do you like about it?
Like many new fans, I first became interested in Formula 1 after watching the Netflix series
Drive to Survive. I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look at the intense competition among the teams and seeing the different tracks around the world. It's ironic that I like watching it—since the way they drive is in such sharp contrast to the way I do! But I've continued following Formula 1 ever since.
