The Middlebury women's squash team started its season on the road Sunday afternoon, claiming 5-4 triumph over No. 20 St. Lawrence (2-1). The 14th-ranked Panthers return to action on January 7 with their home-opening match in the Bostwick Family Squash Center against NESCAC foe Bowdoin at 1:00 p.m.
 
Posting three-game triumphs were Caroline Arena at #4 (11-8, 11-6, 11-8) and Grace Santoro in the eighth spot (11-3, 11-2, 11-4).
 
Maya Bardorf rebounded after dropping her opening game for a win in the middle of the ladder (6-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-7), while Eva Finney surrendered just a single game in a victory at #6 (11-5, 5-11, 11-7, 11-5). The sixth Middlebury point was tallied by Kieran Suntha at #7 (10-12, 11-5, 11-5, 11-3).
 
St. Lawrence recorded their three points with wins in the top-three positions for the final 6-3 score.
