Middlebury men's squash team closed out its season-opening road weekend on Sunday with an 8-1 setback at No. 20 St. Lawrence (3-1). The 21st-ranked Panthers (0-2) take to the courts again on January 7 when they open their home slate with a 1:00 p.m. match against Bowdoin in the Bostwick Family Squash Center. 
 
Carter Joyce was the lone Panther to post a win in Sunday's match, earning a four-game victory (11-9, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6) victory in the seventh spot. Panther Alexis Ballo dropped a hard-fought five-game decision (13-11, 9-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-5) in the eighth slot to St. Lawrence's Dean Brooker.
