Riley Griffis won a pair of events during the meet.
The men's swimming and diving team opened the 2021-22 campaign with a dual meet at Connecticut College on Saturday. The Panthers fell to the Camels 183-111. Middlebury is idle until Saturday, December 4th when it hosts Amherst at 1:00 p.m.
The Panthers had a trio of first-place finishes in the season-opening meet.
Riley Griffis won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.78 and took top honors in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 52.48.
Jack Undercofler placed first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.56 and finished second in the 200 back (1:59.26).
In diving,
Liam Smith was runner-up off the 1 meter board with 187.50 points, while
Ryan Greguski placed second off the 3 meter with 157.50 points.
Samuel Hughes turned in a pair of second place finished, clocking in at 48.73 in the 100 freestyle and posting a time of 2:00.98 in the 200 individual medley.
Other runner-up finishes came from
William Sonne in the 1,000 free (10:17.33),
Jake Gaughan in the 50 free (21.98) and
Matthew Hensel in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.65).
