Women's Golf In Third Place After 18 Holes At NESCAC Qualifier

The Middlebury women's golf team is in third place among eight teams competing at the 2021 NESCAC Women's Golf Fall Golf Qualifier. The top four teams advanced to the league's championship in the spring. Action continues tomorrow in Scarborough, Maine at the Nonesuch River Golf Club, with Bowdoin serving as the host.

Amherst shot a 291 to lead the field on Saturday, followed by Hamilton (295) and the Panthers (296).

Pacing the entire group after 18 holes was Middlebury's Audrey Tir, who was the only player who came in under par with a -1, 70. Her under-par round was the first shot by a Panther golfer in school history. Sophia Hwang sits in a tie for fourth place with a 72 on Saturday, followed by Katie Murphy and Elizabeth Kenter, who each carded a 77 to tie for 13th overall. Just one stroke back with a 78 was Jacqueline Slinkard, who is with three others in 19th place.
