RESULTS
The Middlebury men's cross country team placed second among 11 teams competing at the NESCAC Championship meet. The race was hosted by Trinity and took place at Wickham Park in Manchester, Connecticut. The 14th-ranked Panthers return to action at the NCAA Regionals on November 13th in Waterford, Connecticut.
Third-ranked Williams won the event with 51 points, followed by Middlebury (59), Colby (78) and Tufts (121). The second-place effort was the fifth-straight top-three finish at the event for the Panthers. Middlebury was the only squad with four racers in the top 11, with the Ephs and Connecticut College boasting two.
Alexander Kessler finished the 153-man race in second place, coming in with a time of 25:05. Placing seventh was
Drew Donahue in 25:23, followed by
Quinlan McGaugh (10th), who was the third Middlebury racer in the top-10 with a time of 25:30. Just behind in 11th place was
Alec Gironda, who covered the course in 25:30.
Finishing in 29th place was
Max Cluss, who clocked in at 26:21, followed by
Ziggy Goddard in 42nd (26:36). Rounding out the team's racers was
Luke Lorenz, who came in 48th overall with a time of 26:45.
