Sahana Raman saw an outstanding run come to an end on Saturday, falling in the ITA Cup singles title match. The loss was the rookie's first of the season, as she concludes the fall with an impressive 11-1 record. Raman was just the second Panther to advance to the championship match, with Lok-Sze Leung playing in the title bout in 2011 and capturing the title in 2012.

Top-seeded Raman cruised in the first set against Emory's Eliza McPherron, winning 6-3. The two battled back-and-forth in the middle frame, with second-seed McPherron edging Raman 7-5. The third set was all McPherron as she eased to a 6-2 victory to win the title.Â

Raman advanced to the title match with a trio of victories. She won the round of 16 (4-6, 6-2, 6-2), before easing to a quarterfinal victory (7-5, 6-2). Raman earned the victory in the semifinals when her opponent retired due to injury.
