Men's Squash Holds Off Colby

The #19 Middlebury men's squash team (4-7) held off #20 Colby (4-4) in a thrilling 5-4 victory on Saturday afternoon in Maine. The Panthers return to the courts on Friday when they head to #16 MIT for a 5:00 p.m. match.

The teams traded the first four games to make it 2-2. Jacob Ellen topped his opponent 3-0 (9,8,8) in the third spot for the first Middlebury point, before William Cembalest extended his undefeated streak to eight with a 3-1 victory at #2.

#5 John Epley edged his opponent in an eventful five-game match. The two traded the first four games, before Epley clinched the match with an 11-5 win in the final game. PK Keller gave the Panthers a two-point lead (4-2) with a 3-1 triumph in the seventh spot. 

The Mules responded with a pair of victories, as the contest came down to the deciding match at #4. Knotted 1-1, Jack Kagan won two-straight (11-8, 6-11, 11-4, 13-11) to secure the victory for Middlebury.
