Men's Squash Wins Home Opener

The Middlebury men's squash team picked up a convincing 9-0 win over #21 Amherst (1-2) in the team's home opener at the Bostwick Family Squash Center on Thursday. The 19th-ranked Panthers (2-4) are home again this weekend, facing Franklin & Marshall and Brown on Saturday and Sunday at noon.

The Panthers surrendered just one game through the sweep. Nick Bermingham earned a 3-1 (8-11, 11-8, 11-4, 11-8) win in the top spot for the Panthers, with William Cembalest picking up a 3-0 (10,4,7) sweep. Jacob Ellen emerged at #3 with a 3-0 (3,4,5) win.

Jack Kagan (0,7,4) in the fourth spot, #5 John Epley (5,5,5) and #6 Nate Moll (2,5,6) were all 3-0 winners through the middle of the lineup.

At six singles, PK Keller won in three (8,5,3), as did #8 Wiatt Hinton (5,3,10) and #9 Alex Merrill (8,5,6).
