The Middlebury men's soccer team remained the country's only team that has not allowed a goal (400 minutes), as the Panthers (2-0-2) downed Mount Saint Mary 1-0 on South Street Field. Middlebury returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Hamilton at noon, while the Knights (3-4) are at Rutgers-Newark on Monday.

Mount Saint Mary had the game's first opportunity to score in the fourth minute when Joe Dolan made a pair of nice moves before his quick shot was denied by Panther goalkeeper Ryan Grady. Two minutes later, Ben Potter made a crossing pass to Aidan Robinson for a quick touch, but the attempt was saved by Tyler Rapp (5 saves).

Middlebury broke through at the 26:19 mark with the first-career goal from Max Drazen. Ben Powers picked off a pass and moved the ball ahead to Drazen, who won a race to the ball before chipping a shot over the head of the keeper. The Panthers nearly went up 2-0 in the 40th minute, but Rapp denied Shams Mohajerani's turn-and-shoot attempt.

In the second half, Brandon Reid had a great chance to put the hosts up 2-0 in the 54th minute, but his shot hit the left post. The Knights had a couple of opportunities throughout the remainder of the game, but Grady (3 saves) turned aside shots Connor Doyle and Matt Wyant to preserve his third shutout of the season.

Middlebury finished the game with a 14-5 lead in shots and a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
