The 18th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team fell by a 6-3 tally to No. 19 Brown (6-10) on Saturday in the Summers Cup semifinals at the CSA Men's Squash Team Championship. The match was contested in Yale's Brady Squash Center. The Panthers (14-6) return to action Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in the 19th/20th-place match against No. 19 Williams. Middlebury squared off with the Ephs twice this season, splitting a pair of 5-4 decisions. The Panthers were victorious at home on January 5, before Williams earned a narrow win in the NESCAC Semifinals.

Middlebury garnered the first point when Alex Merrill defeated William Glaser at the bottom of the lineup in four games (11-5, 11-7, 8-11, 11-5). The Bears rattled off wins at No. 6, No. 3, No. 8 and No. 2 for a 4-1 advantage.

The Panthers gained five-game victories in the next two matches to finish, pulling to within 4-3. Nick Bermingham edged Harrison Royer in the middle of the ladder in five games (11-5, 4-11, 11-8, 12-14, 15-13), while John Epley was victorious at No. 7 against Nick Pitaro (11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 6-11, 11-3).
