Panthers Edged By Franklin & Marshall

The 18th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team wrapped up a road weekend on Sunday, falling to No. 17 Franklin & Marshall by a 5-4 tally in the Mayser Squash Courts. The Panthers (10-4) return to the court next weekend they host the NESCAC Championships in the Bostwick Family Squash Center.

Franklin & Marshall (10-4) took the early lead with a three-game victory at No. 2. Middlebury responded with four-straight wins to grab a 4-1 lead. John Epley defeated Allen Tompkins in the eighth slot (5-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-3), while Teddy Best eased past Boden Polikoff at No. 6 in three games (11-5, 11-5, 11-6).

Jack Kagan edged Aryan Parekh in the fourth position (11-9, 10-12, 11-7, 11-5), while Alex Merrill made the score 4-1, outlasting Samm Fulton at the bottom of the ladder in five games (11-5, 5-11, 11-2, 10-12, 11-2).

The Diplomats rattled off the last four matches to finish, including a five-game victory at No. 3 for the 5-4 victory.
