The Middlebury women's soccer team netted a pair of late goals, lifting the visitors to a 2-0 NESCAC road triumph Saturday over Connecticut College. The Panthers (2-0, 1-0) are right back on the field Sunday, heading to Roger Williams for an 11:00 a.m. kickoff.

Conn. College (1-1, 0-1) had the best scoring chance in the early going, as the Camels nearly took advantage of a free kick just inside of the right sideline. Emmy McGoldrick lined a hard shot that Panther keeper Ursula Alwang punched upward off the cross bar. Kat Norton's bid at the rebound was blocked away by a Middlebury defender, keeping the game scoreless.

Middlebury had a couple of chances minutes apart in the middle stages of the stanza with Sabrina Glaser getting the first of those opportunities. Conn. College goalie keeper Sarah Williams made a diving stop on Glaser's attempt, while teammate Eliza Robinson's offering from inside the penalty area just missed the top-right corner.

In the second half, the hosts produced a chance in the opening minutes on a corner kick, but Kelly Brigham's header grazed the cross bar and went over the net. Five minutes later, Alwang made a diving save to her right, denying Samantha Miesemer of a goal.

The Panthers opened the scoring with 12:40 on the clock on a play that started on the left wing when Gretchen McGrath served the ball into the restraining area. Olivia Miller got around her defender and one-touched the pass with her left foot to the far back post for her first career goal.

The visitors added an insurance goal with 3:23 remaining, as McGrath charged the net and buried a cross from the right side by Ellie Greenberg.

Alwang had a big game in goal for the Panthers with 11 saves for her 10th-career shutout. Williams had four stops for the Camels, while teammate Katy Pelletier recorded seven.
