The fifth-ranked Middlebury women's soccer team overcame an early deficit, scoring three-straight goals for a 3-1 NESCAC triumph Saturday over visiting Bates. The Panthers (13-0-1, 8-0-1) conclude the regular season Tuesday with a 3:00 p.m. match at Williams, with the winner of that contest earning the top seed in the NESCAC Tournament. Bates (5-9-0, 0-9-0) wraps up its season the same day and time, hosting Colby.

The visitors got the early jump, scoring just over a minute into the contest. Olivia Amdur served a corner kick into the penalty area where teammate Caroline Bogue redirected the ball into the top-left corner of the net with 67 seconds expired.

Bates nearly claimed a two-goal lead three minutes later, but Amdur's shot from the right side just missed the left post. Middlebury pulled even with 5:15 showing on the clock, as Eliza Robinson lofted a long-free kick that Bobcat keeper Katherine Nuckols punched into the air, but Sabrina Glaser controlled the rebound and netted her sixth goal of the season.

After the half, the Panthers claimed their first lead of the contest 1:57 into the fresh stanza. Glaser sent a pass from the right side of the penalty area to Eliza Van Voorhis, who placed a shot in the lower-left corner of the net for her team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Middlebury tacked on an insurance goal with 1:37 remaining when Magnolia Moskun tucked a low shot past a diving Nuckols with an assist from Clare Robinson. The goal was Moskun's first collegiate tally.

In goal for the Panthers, Eva Shaw made a pair of saves, while Nuckols had eight stops for the Bobcats.

The hosts possessed a 22-7 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
