The 19th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team eased past visiting Amherst on Wednesday afternoon by a 9-0 score. The Panthers (2-2) return to competition on Friday at 6:30 p.m. when they travel to Maine for a contest at Bates.

In the win over the 24th-ranked Mammoths (4-2), the hosts recorded three-game victories in the top-six spots of the ladder. John Epley started things off with a win at #6 (11-5, 11-3, 11-6) over Reginal Brewster, while Jack Kagan doubled the Middlebury lead via a win in the third spot (16-14, 11-4, 11-2) against David Merkel. Ryan Swope needed five games to get past Mateen Mills at #9 (11-9, 6-11, 11-5, 3-11, 11-6), while Jacob Ellen made it a 4-0 score with an 11-4, 11-7, 11-3 win over Robert Parker in the second slot.

Wiatt Hinton clinched the match with an 11-8, 11-3, 11-8 triumph against Pavan Nagaraj in the fifth slot. Sam Giddins posted an 11-9, 3-11, 11-8, 11-5 win at #8 over Chris Zimmerman, while William Cembalest was victorious in the top spot against Terrance Wang (11-8, 11-5, 15-13).

Henry Pearson edged Harith Khawaja in the fourth spot of the lineup (11-7, 11-9, 11-7, while Thomas Wolpow posted an 11-7, 9-11, 11-5, 11-7 win at #4 against Cameron Bahadori to complete the sweep.
