Middlebury's Eliza Van Voorhis scored with 10 seconds left in the first overtime, lifting the Panthers to a 2-1 victory at Wesleyan (5-5-1, 1-5-1) on Sunday. Middlebury (8-2-1, 4-2-1) returns to action Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. match at Castleton.  

The Panthers had a great opportunity to score in the 14th minute when Sabrina Glaser rebounded an initial blocked shot by Eliza Robinson, but Wesleyan's defense came up big with a second block to keep the match scoreless.

The Cardinals got on the board at the 26:38 mark, when a persistent Carly Bechtloff beat three Middlebury defenders and sent a short pass to Emily Ribatt on the right side. Ribatt crossed the ball to the center, where Lauren Goetzman's header found the back of the goal.

In the second half, Middlebury continued with offensive pressure while looking for the equalizer. The Panthers broke through at the 79:15 mark, when Alex Barber centered a corner kick to Van Voorhis at the top of the 18. Van Voorhis played the ball back to Caitlin Magruder, who riffled a shot into the back of the net from 30 yards out, for her first goal of the season. The contest remained knotted at 1-1 as time expired in regulation.

In overtime, Middlebury's Amanda Dafonte barreled down the right side of the field before crossing the ball to Barber on the left. Barber chipped the ball up to Virginia Charman, who sent a through ball to a sliding Van Voorhis for the game winning tally. Van Voorhis' goal was her team-leading fifth of the season.

The Panthers held a 17-10 shot advantage in the match. Middlebury's Eva Shaw finished with four stops for her second win of the season, while Wesleyan's Meg Hanan had two saves in goal.
