Middlebury Ends Regular Season With Win at Brown

The 18th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team earned a 7-2 victory Sunday afternoon at #19 Brown in the regular-season finale played in the Brodsky Squash Pavilion. Middlebury (8-7) returns to the court on Friday when it competes in the NESCAC Tournament hosted by Amherst.

In the win over the Bears (4-7), the Panthers earned wins in the first six matches that were completed. Andrew Cadienhead edged his opponent in three games at #3 (11-9, 13-11, 11-6), while Ben Krant dropped the first game in the sixth spot before winning the next three (8-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-2).

Nick Bermingham made the score 3-0 with a four-game victory at the bottom of the ladder (11-6, 6-11, 11-3, 12-10), while Jack Kagan cruised in three games at #5 (11-6, 11-7, 11-7). Jacob Ellen clinched the match, battling back from a 2-0 deficit for a five-game triumph in the second spot (7-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-2, 11-7).

William Kurth increased the Panther lead to 6-0 with a three-game win at #8 (11-7, 11-5, 11-2). Brown picked up its two points with victories at #4 and #1 sandwiched around a Middlebury win by Robert Rohrbach at #7 in five games (7-11, 11-9, 3-11, 11-4, 11-5) for the final 7-2 tally.
