The 16th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team concluded a busy stretch with its fourth match in the last six days, falling to 10th-ranked Franklin & Marshall 6-3 on Sunday in a match played at Williams. The Panthers (8-3) have nearly a week off from competition before returning to the court Saturday in a road contest with the 18th-ranked Ephs at 2:00 p.m.
The Diplomats (5-5) took the early lead with a four-game victory at #6.
William Kurth put the Panthers on the scoreboard with a three-game win over Franklin & Marshall's Ricardo Machado by scores of 11-7, 11-5 and 11-9 at #8. The Diplomats clinched the team victory with four-straight triumphs in the middle of the ladder at #4, #2, #5 and #3, respectively.
Middlebury's second and third team points were posted by
Robert Rohrbach in four games at #9 (12-10, 9-11, 11-4, 12-10) over F&M's Ishan Advani, while
Ben Krant was victorious in a marathon five-game contest (11-9, 7-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-9) against Samm Fulton at #7. The Diplomats earned their sixth point at the top of the lineup for the final 6-3 score.
