Box Score Plattsburgh State's Anissa Hartmann scored 4:33 into the second overtime to lift the Cardinals (5-2-1) to a 2-1 victory over Middlebury (2-2-1) in a game played under the lights in New York. The Panthers return to action on Saturday with a NESCAC contest at Bowdoin.
Middlebury took a 1-0 lead just 7:46 into the game on the second of the year from Hannah Robinson. After taking a feed from Katherine Hobbs, Robinson scored from the left side after taking one touch, giving her team the early advantage.
The Panthers held that lead until the 72:27 mark when Plattsburgh State's Hartmann scored the equalizer on a penalty kick.
The game remained knotted at 1-1 for the remainder of regulation and through the first 10-minute overtime, before Hartmann scored from the top of the box with a blast after a corner kick for the game-winning tally.
Plattsburgh State held a 15-11 shots advantage in the game, holding a 5-1 edge in corner kicks. Nichole Gibson made five saves in goal for the win for the Cardinals, while Kate Reinmuth made four stops for the visitors.
