Jung Falls in Molloy Consolation Final at CSA Individual Tournament

Andrew Jung of the Middlebury men's squash team advanced to the consolation final of the Molloy Cup bracket and posted a 3-2 record during the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championship hosted by Princeton University at the Jadwin Squash Courts. Jung was one of 48 players who looked to claim the title in the respective bracket.

Jung was matched up with Darrius Campbell of Bates in his opening-round match. Campbell won the first and third sets by scores of 12-10 and 11-3, while Jung was victorious in the second and fourth sets by tallies of 11-4 and 11-3. Campbell picked up the win via an 11-5 score in the fifth and decisive set.

The third-year Panther bounced back with three-straight wins in the consolation bracket to advance to the final. He defeated Nikhil Punwaney of M.I.T. (11-5, 11-5, 11-2), Wei Sien Goh of the University of Minnesota (11-3, 11-5, 11-4) and William MacFarlane of Stanford (11-5, 11-5, 11-5), all in straight sets.

In the final, Jung grabbed a 2-1 lead by scores of 11-9, 9-11 and 11-5 against William McBrian of Colby. McBrian rebounded and took sets four (11-8) and five (11-5) for the title.
