The Middlebury cross country teams took part in the NESCAC Championship races hosted by Wesleyan University at Long Lane Farm. The Panther women placed third in the 11-team race, while the men turned in a fifth-place finish. Middlebury is back in action next weekend at the ECAC Championships.
Abigail Nadler had another solid race for the Panthers, placing second overall with a time of 21:54, six seconds off the NESCAC Championship pace in the 6K race. Adrian Walsh was next for Middlebury in 13th place, crossing the line with a time of 22:21. Emma DeCamp followed in 22nd place (22:50), while Katherine Tercek placed 27th overall with a time of 22:58. Rounding out the team's five scorers was Sasha Whittle, who came in 31st in 23:05.
On the men's side, the Panthers were paced by Sebastian Matt, who placed 13th in the 8K event with a time of 25:32. Next for the squad were Ascencion Aispuro and Brian Rich, who placed 17th (25:44) and 18th (25:54) respectively. Sam Cartwright placed 37th overall at the race in 26:23, while Sam Klockenkemper crossed the line in 26:51, good for 58th place.
