Cross Country Teams Win At Albany

The Middlebury cross county teams took part in the 47th annual Albany Invitational with several Division I and II teams. The third-ranked Panther women won the six-team event by 30 points over Marist. The ninth-ranked Middlebury men captured the eight-team event by 56 points over Vermont.

Sarah Guth was victorious in the women's race, edging teammate Erzsebet Nagy by just .2 seconds with a time of 18:27.2 Marist placed the next two runners, followed by Adelphi  before the Panthers owned spots 6-12. Katie Rominger held down the sixth spot in 18:44, with Alison Maxwell four seconds behind in 18:48. Katherine Tercek rounded out the Middlebury scorers in eighth place just .6 behinds behind Tercek with a time of 18:48.9.

The Panther men placed five in the top eight, led by Greg Krathwohl who finished second in 25:21, three seconds off the winning pace. Nate Sans and Wilder Schaaf finished third (25:35) and fourth (25:37) respectively, followed by Kevin Wood in fifth (25:44) and Sam Craft in eighth (25:54).
