The Panther cross country teams were in action on Saturday, competing at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State. The 13th-ranked Middlebury men won the 40-team event with 23 points, followed by Amherst (111) and Connecticut College (140). The third-ranked Panther women captured the 43-team race with 28 points, followed by Amherst (64), and Wellesley (158).
Jack Davies won the 429-man men's race, covering the course with a time of 25:40. Middlebury then placed runners in third, fourth and fifth places to make up four of the top five finishers. Nate Sans came in third place in 25:49, followed by Patrick Hebble in fourth (25:54) and Kevin Wood in fifth place with a time of 26:07. Greg Krathwohl wrapped up the Middlebury scorers with an 11th place finish (26:31).
On the women's side, Addie Tousley finished in second place among 453 racers, coming in with a time of 21:50. Katie Rominger was next in fourth place (22:19), followed by Emily Attwood, who earned a fifth place finish in 22:35. Sarah Guth rounded out the four Panthers in the top seven (22:36), while Alison Maxwell came in 10th (22:50) to round out the scorers.
