The Middlebury College cross country teams both picked up wins at St. Michael's on Friday afternoon. Each team scored the minimum of 15 points, with the women placing racers 1-9 and the men owning places 1-7. Both teams defeated the University of Vermont, St. Michael's and Lyndon State at the meet.
Senior Jack Davies (Grosse Point, Mich.) won the 56-man men's race, finishing with a time of 24:27. Just seven seconds behind was senior Patrick Hebble (Sudbury, Mass.), followed by junior Nate Sans (Princeton, Mass.), who finished in third with a time of 24:57. Sophomore Kevin Wood (Lincolnshire, Ill.) was next for the Panthers in fourth place (25:01), followed by junior Wilder Schaaf (Ashland, Ore.) in fifth (25:13).
Senior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) led the Panther women, winning the race with a time of 17:52. Taking home a second place finish was junior Katie Rominger (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with a time of 18:15, followed by sophomore Alison Maxwell (Port Angeles, Wash.) in third place (18:20). Placing fourth in the race was sophomore Katie Carlson (Princeton, Mass.) in 18:22, followed closely by first-year racer Olivia Artaiz (Banks, Ore.) in fifth place (18:23).
