The Middlebury men's squash team earned its first win of the season, topping #15 Navy 5-4 at Williams. The middle of the line-up won the day for the #14 Panthers, who picked up wins at ladder spot numbers 4-7 without dropping a game. Junior Jay Dolan (Wareham, Mass.) was also victorious in the match, winning at #2.
Navy quickly took a 2-1 match advantage, winning at #3 and #9, while Middlebury sophomore Will Moore (Summit, N.J.) won at #6. Next to go on court were numbers 2, 5, and 8 and Middlebury evened the score at 3-3 with wins at #2 and #5 and a loss at #8. Only matches 1, 4 and 7 remained, with Middlebury reaching five match wins as junior Spencer Hurst (Greenwich, Conn.) won in straight games at #4, and then senior co-captain Addi DiSesa (Wynnewood, Pa.) closed it out to win in straight games at #7, giving Middlebury the team victory. With Middlebury up 5-3 and the match decided, the #1's played the final match. Middlebury senior Valentin Quan (La Libertad, El Salvador) unable to close in a marathon, falling 11-6, 11-5, 8-11, 9-11, 8-11.
