Despite resting several of its top runners, the Middlebury cross country teams performed well at the ECAC Championships hosted by Williams. The Panther women won the 40-team race, while the men were third among 44 teams.
Senior Claire McIlvennie (Ithaca, N.Y.) won the 276-woman ECAC Championship race, covering the course with a time of 22:33. Just seven seconds behind in second place was senior Hannah Meier (Charlotte, Vt.), followed by sophomore Katie Rominger (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in fourth (22:53). Sophomore Emily Attwood (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) wasn't far behind Rominger, finishing in fifth place in 23:08, while sophomore Lottie Hedden (Washington, D.C.) rounded out the scorers with a 13th place (23:38) finish.
Junior Patrick Hebble (Sudbury, Mass.) finished the 300-man race in second place, earning a time of 26:19. Senior Taylor Sundali (Ketchum, Idaho) came in sixth place (26:39), while sophomore Samuel Craft (Hamden, Conn.) earned a 25th place finish (27:26). Rounding out Middlebury's scorers were sophomore Jeff Colt (Hanover, N.H.) in 30th (27:35) and junior Anthony Lee (Plainsboro, N.J.) in 39th (27:49).
