Men's Soccer Falls In OT At Colby

Middlebury dropped its first game and gave up its first goals of the season as they fell at Colby, 2-1 in overtime.  Nick Aubin scored with just 35 seconds left in overtime to give the Mules the win over 19th-ranked Middlebury. The Panthers were 7-0 overall, ranked third in New England, and had not allowed a goal all season before Saturday's game. Middlebury went 673 minutes and had outscored its opponents by a 26-0 margin when Aubin tallied with two minutes left in the first half. Matias Rodlauer had a cross skim off his head to Aubin, who was there to knock it in the net.

Middlebury (7-1 overall, 3-1 NESCAC) took a 1-0 lead at 32:41 when Otis Pitney beat a defender on the right side and ripped a shot for the goal. Aubin scored the biggest goal of his collegiate career when he headed home a cross from Jeremy Lachtrupp in overtime.

Ben Joslin made his second straight start in earning the victory with a pair of saves, while Tim Cahill stopped one shot.  Middlebury outshot Colby 12-7 in the game.
