David LaRocca scored the eventual game-winning goal about 16 minutes into the second half as the Middlebury men's soccer team earned a 2-0 win over Colby in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Saturday. The shutout is the fourth of the season for the 6-1 Panthers.
LaRocca scored with an assist from Casey Ftorek at the 61:15 mark. The Panthers added an insurance goal when Vandy Shanholt tallied with just 2:12 left in the game.
Zack Toth had two saves to earn the shutout for Middlebury, while Josh Kahane stopped a penalty kick in the first half and finished with three stops for Colby.
