Women's Soccer Wins At Bowdoin

Lindsay Walker converted on a penalty kick in overtime to give the Middlebury women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Bowdoin on Sunday. The loss drops Bowdoin to 2-4-2 on the season, while Middlebury advances to 5-1-0.

With under two minutes of play in overtime, Bowdoin was called for a foul in the penalty box giving Middlebury a chance at a penalty kick.

Walker took advantage of the opportunity and put her shot in the lower-right corner of the goal, awarding the Panthers the win.

Middlebury had a close encounter with a goal in the second half as a shot sailed past Popoff. But Bowdoin's Grace Moore cleared the ball off the goal-line to keep the contest scoreless. Ann Zeigler had Bowdoin's best opportunity for a goal in transition with just three minutes left in the game, but her shot bounced off the goal post and was cleared away.
