Men's Hockey Holds Off Amherst

Middlebury remained unbeaten in its last six games as they picked up a 3-2 NESCAC win over Amherst. The Panthers scored three first period goals and then held on for the road win.

Patrick Nugent opened the scoring with a power play goal at 4:52, followed by a tally from Jed McDonald at 7:44. Tom Maldonado completed the three-goal period with a short handed tally at the 16:28 mark. Amherst scored a shortie of its own midway through the second period, before cutting the lead to 3-2 with 1:20 left in the game. The Jeffs pulled their netminder late, but were unable to score the equalizer.

Yen-I Chen made 28 saves in goal for the win as Middlebury out shot Amherst, 36-30.
