Women's Soccer Falls In OT To Plattsburgh

Elysa Lafountain scored with a low hard shot from 15 yards out in overtime to lift Plattsburgh to a 2-1 win over Middlebury on Dragone Field. The Panthers end their regular season at Trinity on Saturday and then will play a NESCAC Tournament first-round game on the road on Sunday. Plattsburgh ends its regular season at 12-5-1.

Caity Abshere gave Middlebury a 1-0 lead at the 52:31 mark as she won a race to the ball and ripped a shot inside the far post. Teresa Barber tied the game for Plattsburgh just 3:48 later as she headed in a crossing pass from Kyra Crosby. Neither team would score through the remainder of regulation, forcing the game into overtime.

Natasha Groblewski made for saves in her collegiate debut for Middlebury, while Kathryn Lind made 10 saves for Plattsburgh.
