10/2/05 - Middlebury improved its defensive scoreless streak 557:24 as they earned their sixth consecutive shutout with a 3-0 victory over NESCAC foe Bowdoin. The Panthers entered the game ranked second in <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />New England, while Bowdoin sat at number four.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Rookie Baer Fisher put Middlebury on the board just 3:18 into the game as he slid a shot into the net after a scramble in front. The lead grew to 2-0 at 37:25 as Gabe Wood found the left side of the net, gathering a loose ball in the goal mouth area after a corner kick. Derek Cece scored the game's final goal at 68:33 as he converted a nice crossing pass from Jacob Whitted.
Zack Toth made three saves in goal to lower his GAA to 0.14 with six shutouts on the season. Nathan Lovitz made four saves for Bowdoin.
