Middlebury notched a key 1-0 win over conference rival Williams, on a very wet Saturday afternoon on Dragone Field. The Panthers entered the game third in the NESCAC and ranked 10th in New England, while the Ephs were first in the conference and ranked second in the region.
Williams out shot Middlebury 7-3 in the first half, with the game remaining scoreless. Middlebury got on the board 3:34 into the second half, with the game's only goal. The goal came following a corner kick, when Caity Abshere sent in a low hard shot from the 18 that was redirected in traffic by Kim Walker.
Middlebury made the lead stand up, despite being out shot 16-7 on the afternoon. Adele Plunkett earned her fourth shutout of the season with eight saves, while Sarah Ginsburg made one save on the day.
