Middlebury won its third-straight game as they earned a 6-0 shutout over Plymouth State on Dragone Field. The Panthers return to action on Saturday, when they host Williams at noon in a key NESCAC match-up.
Ashley Pfaff was credited with her team-leading 10th goal of the season late in the first half as her shot deflected into the net off a defender. Kelsey MacDonald almost answered for Plymouth just 19 seconds later, but her rocket from 15 yards out deflected off the top cross bar and was cleared by the defense.
Erin Oliver scored on a rebound at 49:34, while Caity Abshere made it a 3-0 game at 53:55 with a shot from the outside. Caitlin Parker converted a nice crossing pass from Erin O'Rourke at 64:18, giving O'Rourke her third consecutive assist in the contest. Carly Berger and Annie Lloyd scored in the last eight minutes of the game to make it a 6-0 final.
Adele Plunkett made nine saves in goal to earn her third shutout of the season, while Hayley Quinones made nine saves for Plymouth.
