9/25/04 - The Middlebury College men's ross country team was in action again last week as they took part in the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams. The Panthers placed second overall, with the host school winning the event.

Junior Garrott Kuzzy (Minneapolis, Minn.) led the men's squad with a third place finish in 26:51, 24 seconds off the winning pace. First-year racer Jim Butcher (Garden City, N.Y.) turned in another solid finish as he came in fifth (27:23), followed by senior Nick Digani (Northfield, Ill.) in ninth place (27:55). Junior Nolan Sandygren (Seattle, Wash.) finished 10th for Middlebury in 27:55, while sophomore Will McDonough (Lancaster, N.H.) rounded out the scorers in 13th place (28:12).
